The traffic safety course is a statutory course that must be completed before the practical driving test.

Perception
- Correctly categorising traffic situations
- Recognising dangers in advance
- Function of the sensory organs, visual techniques, visual acuity & brightness
Dangers in the traffic environment
- Dealing with other road users
- Early recognition of the behaviour of other road users
- Influences of seasons & weather conditions
Driving dynamics
- Lane choice & speed
- Vehicle safety, luggage & load
- Driving forces, rolling resistance, gradient & stopping distance
Behaviour in traffic
- Fitness to drive, health, distraction, stress, fatigue, alcohol, medication, drugs
- Environmentally conscious, clever & anticipatory driving

Duration

The VKU lasts a total of 8 hours.

Intensive courses at the weekend:
Saturday & Sunday from 16:00 - 20:00 (2 course parts on the same day)

Valid learner's licence
